A children’s book that shares the relationship of a little brown girl and god, whom she calls, papa.
This three-movement poem invites readers ages three and up to journey with the Papa of their imagination. It can be read in one sitting or spread out over numerous days.
With each illustration, readers do not see a physical image of Papa but instead, through the genius of Claudia May's words and the use of whimsical illustration, meet a God who cannot be contained within one single image or limited to one encounter.
This project was such a refreshing and exciting one to work on. Claudia trusted me with the vision and gave guidance along the way!
As of January 2019, this book has received its first award from the Illumination Book Awards. It was awarded the Enduring Light Award of the Christian Children’s Books Category.
